Common Questions
How does a commercial photography project work?
Every project starts with a brief: a conversation about your business, what the photography is for, and how you plan to use it. I then handle planning before shoot day, including shot lists, location scouting if needed, and guidance on clothing or styling for headshots. The photography session is run efficiently to minimise disruption. Edited images are delivered via a private online gallery within one to five working days, with full commercial usage rights included. Not sure what to include? How long does a commercial shoot take?
It depends on the scope. A headshot session for one or two people can be done in under an hour. A full-day commercial lifestyle shoot for a larger brand will take a full day or more. I’ll give you a realistic time estimate at the brief stage so there are no surprises on the day.
How quickly will I receive the images?
Edited images are delivered within one to five working days as standard. For time-sensitive PR or press work, a faster turnaround can often be arranged. Just mention it when you get in touch.
What areas do you cover?
I’m based in Bournemouth and regularly work across Dorset, Poole, Hampshire and London. I also take commissions further afield. Recent projects have included shoots in Cambridge, Skegness, Minehead and across the South Coast. Travel costs are discussed and agreed as part of the brief.
Do I need a studio, or can you shoot on location?
Both. Most commercial work is shot on location at your premises, a venue, or outdoors, which tends to produce more natural, authentic imagery. Studio space is also available for headshots and product work where a controlled environment is needed.
What usage rights do I get with my images?
All images are delivered with full commercial usage rights for your business, covering use on your website, marketing materials, social media, press and internal communications. If you need extended licensing for advertising campaigns or third-party use, that can be discussed and included in the brief.
Can I book ongoing or regular commercial photography?
Yes. Several clients book regular sessions: quarterly headshots for a growing team, seasonal lifestyle content, or ongoing PR coverage. Get in touch to discuss what a regular arrangement might look like.
