How long does a portrait shoot take?
It depends on the shoot type. A mini family shoot typically takes around 45 minutes to an hour. A full family or adventure shoot usually runs between 90 minutes and two hours. Couple and individual shoots are typically around an hour. I’ll always give you a clear timing expectation when we chat so you can plan your day without any stress.
Where do portrait shoots take place?
I photograph on location across Bournemouth, Poole and the wider Dorset area. Popular locations include the Bournemouth beach and seafront, Hengistbury Head, Sandbanks, local woodland and parks, and family homes. If you have a location that is meaningful to you, we can discuss whether it is a good fit.
How much does a portrait shoot cost?

What should we wear?
There’s no strict rule, but a few things work well. Coordinate rather than match. Complementary tones work better than identical outfits. Natural colours tend to photograph better than very bold or neon shades. Most importantly, wear something you feel comfortable and like yourself in. That confidence always comes through in the photographs.
Can you photograph large family groups?
Absolutely. I’ve photographed extended family groups of twenty, thirty and more. Larger groups work best with a full adventure shoot, which gives enough time to work through various combinations: a formal group shot alongside smaller family clusters and natural, candid moments. How many images will we receive?
A mini shoot typically delivers 5 to 15 edited images; a Family Shoot usually 20 to 60; an Adventure Shoot 40 to 80. All images are professionally edited, colour-graded and delivered as high-resolution files via a private online gallery, typically within two weeks of your shoot.
