Documentary coverage for corporate clients and private celebrations
The Approach
A Documentary Approach to Event Photography
Every event has its own character. The photography should reflect that.
That means reading the room, anticipating what is about to happen, and being in the right place without interrupting the flow.
With a background in photojournalism and more than 25 years photographing corporate events, conferences, private celebrations and large-scale gatherings, my approach is observational, responsive and shaped by the event itself. Working across Dorset, Bournemouth and London, I focus on the people, atmosphere, details and moments that tell the full story of the event.

Corporate Events
When an event represents your organisation, the photography needs to work beyond the day itself. Images are typically used for press releases, marketing campaigns, internal communications and future event promotion, so coverage is planned around what the business actually needs.
Recent commissions have included conferences, product launches, awards evenings and brand activations across Dorset and London. Images are edited and supplied ready for press, marketing and digital use. For a full overview of what is involved, the dedicated corporate event photography page covers approach, coverage and what to expect.
- Conferences & product launches
- Awards evenings & brand activations
- Company celebrations & networking events
- Press-ready images as standard
Specialist Coverage
Conference & Large-Scale Events
Large conferences require a different approach from smaller events. Key speakers, audience engagement, production elements and branded environments all need documenting clearly, while the atmosphere of the event as a whole still comes through in the final images.
With experience at major hotels, exhibition centres and university venues across Dorset and London, coverage produces a complete visual record suitable for press, reporting and future event promotion. For more detail, the dedicated conference photography page covers everything from planning through to delivery. For large-scale London events, there is also a specific ExCeL London conference photography page covering what to expect at that scale.
London
London Corporate Events
Based in Dorset and regularly working across London, coverage is available for corporate events, conferences, product launches and brand activations throughout the capital. The approach is the same wherever the event takes place: calm, efficient and focused on the photography.
Recent London commissions have included events at ExCeL, Tobacco Dock, the Science Museum, Illuminate and the QEII Centre, as well as a range of central London hotels and venues. For a full overview, the dedicated London corporate event photography page covers venues and what to expect. There is also a specific Tobacco Dock event photography page for events at that venue.
“Paul has clearly mastered the very difficult art of event photography. Not only that, but he’s a really great guy to work with as well. What more could you ask for?”
Private Events
Private Events & Celebrations
Whether it’s a milestone birthday, an anniversary, an intimate dinner or a lively garden party, the aim is to document the occasion naturally without interrupting it. The focus is on genuine interactions, natural portraits and the small moments that often pass unnoticed. The result is a collection of images that reflects the atmosphere of the gathering and the people who made it memorable.
For more on approach, coverage and how it all works in practice, the dedicated party and celebration photography page covers everything from milestone birthdays to private dining and family gatherings across Dorset, the South Coast and beyond.
- Birthday parties & milestone celebrations
- Anniversaries & private dining
- Christenings & naming ceremonies
- Family gatherings & house parties
“Paul did such a wonderful job for a family 80th birthday party. Thanks to his unobtrusive style he got many lovely shots, even of the birthday girl who is extremely camera shy. Can’t recommend highly enough.”
