Case Study · Commercial
Commercial PR Photography, Dorset and Hampshire
PR and brand photography across Dorset and Hampshire, delivered the same day for immediate press and social media use.
The Commission
A commercial photography programme built around PR deadlines
A series of commercial photography assignments for a Dorset property developer, delivered across more than a dozen shoots covering staff portraits, homeowner photography, open days, marketing events and PR-led brand imagery at development sites in Dorset and Hampshire. Each shoot typically ran between 30 and 90 minutes, working around live business activity without disrupting the day.
The defining requirement throughout was speed. Images were delivered the same day, often within two hours of the shoot, sent directly to the PR agency prepared and ready for immediate press, social media and marketing use. That rapid turnaround shaped the way each assignment was approached from the outset.

The Approach
Creative Process
Working across more than a dozen shoots for the same property developer created a particular responsibility for visual consistency. Locations, subjects and conditions changed with each assignment: active development sites, working offices, open days and exterior settings all brought different demands. Many shoots took place while sites were still under construction, with PPE required and the photography shaped around the realities of a live working site. The approach throughout remained deliberately aligned, so each set of images felt connected to the wider campaign rather than like a series of separate commissions photographed in different styles.

Commercial PR Photography
People-Focused Photography Built for PR and Press
A large part of commercial photography now sits somewhere between branding, editorial and PR imagery. Businesses need photographs that feel polished while remaining approachable, particularly when images are going directly into press releases, social media feeds and ongoing marketing campaigns.
For these assignments, that meant working naturally rather than directing heavily. Some shoots focused on staff photography within working locations, others on homeowners at development sites, open day coverage or customer-facing moments. The photography needed to feel considered without losing the sense of a real setting or genuine interaction.
Working within tight timeframes also demands flexibility. Portraits, candid interactions, environmental frames and wider contextual scenes can all come from a single 60-minute shoot, giving marketing and PR teams a varied, commercially useful set of images ready to support each story as it goes live. Where the brief leans more specifically towards professional headshots or environmental business portraits, the same principles apply: efficient, low-pressure and carefully shaped around how the images will be used.
Ongoing Commercial Photography
Commercial Photography Across Multiple Locations in Dorset and Hampshire
Shoots took place across a range of locations in Dorset and Hampshire, including active development sites, offices, open days and completed residential settings. Each assignment brought its own practical and visual considerations, from working safely around sites still under construction to finding clean, useful compositions within busy public-facing events.
This variety called for a responsive approach. Some briefs needed people-focused PR imagery, others required development exteriors, customer photographs, staff portraits or wider scenes that helped place the story. Across all of them, the aim was to produce images that felt purposeful, natural and immediately useful to the PR team.
Finished photographs were created for a wide range of applications: press releases, social media updates, website content, brochures, print marketing and broader brand campaigns. Images of people, place and activity, used individually or together, gave the communications team a flexible set of assets to support each announcement and keep the wider campaign visually consistent.
