WOW! What a destination wedding location! Jana and Matt had an outdoor wedding at Durdle Door in Dorset featuring a bagpiper and handfasting ceremony. The couple are from Canada and chose to have their very special day in the beauty of the Dorset Jurassic coast.
Being a Saturday in August, lots of tourists were visiting this famous spot and as the bagpiper started playing it got everyone’s attention and the couple quickly became minor celebrities for the day.
The wedding party travelled from Poole on a red London double-decker bus and walked down to the spot. Jana in her high healed shoes also made the 20 minute walk with her father and made of honour. The ominous clouds started to part as the ceremony began and returned after the ceremony had finished. It was a beautiful wedding, lots of emotion and high-spirits ending in cheers and a round of applause from guests and tourists.
Everyone returned on the bus with Canadian country music playing and a party atmosphere. Their intimate wedding reception was a joy to document, loads of fun including the ‘shoe game’ which had everyone in raucous laughter.
A BIG congratulations to the wonderful couple and newlyweds Jana & Matt!
