Following the wedding ceremony in the village of Kingston, the wedding reception was held in a field just up the road. Being a Dorset wedding photographer I tend to spend quite a bit of time in fields. The location they chose to set up the marquee is surrounded by the picturesque rolling fields of the Dorset countryside and has spectacular views of the sea overlooking Swanage, the Isle of White and Corfe Castle.
A marquee had been set up as well as a campsite for the wedding guests. I love documenting marquee wedding receptions. The light and airy space that a marquee provides creates a fabouslus airy space.
As the wedding guests arrived and enjoyed their drinks and canopies, Alan and Emily went off to a secret location. Unknown to all the guests Alan was getting changed into a bright canary yellow suit, something he had always wanted to do when he got married. With an emphasis on fun, Emily and Alan provided some lawn games, a bouncy castle and a magician.
Documentary wedding photography in Dorset
Here are some of my favourite documentary wedding photos from the marquee wedding reception:
The table names featured numbers representing personal statistics of the Bride & Groom.
The Stag Party
The Hen Party
Some of the couples friends had gone to allot of trouble to set up this tent as the honeymoon suite.
What a fantastic location for a wedding reception. It was great to capture all the fun as everyone enjoyed themselves. This wedding documentary continues soon with more photos from the marquee wedding reception and evening celebrations..
