As a Dorset wedding photographer I get to photograph many country weddings in rural Dorset. The other day I visited the small quaint village of Shapwick to photograph Sally and Danny’s wedding. It was held in the village church which is just around the corner from Sally’s Mom’s cottage. The cottage is 400 years old and provided a new wedding photographer challenge, very low ceilings. The challenge was not how to photograph but to avoid bashing my head on the low beams. I quickly learned after my second collision.
The weather was ideal, just a few clouds softening the light, no wind so was perfect for Sally to walk from her Mom’s cottage to the church which made great documentary wedding photography. The service was joyful and touching. The wedding reception was held at the lovely Haven Hotel in Sandbanks, Poole. This wedding venue has easy access to beach and spectacular views over to Studland and the Purbecks. It was rather windy on the beach when we adventured out, so I took advantage to get some creative wedding portraits.
A big congratulations to MR&MRS Phelps!
