The morning of Kelly and Chris’ wedding in Dorset I was a rather excitable documentary wedding photographer. I’m always enthusiastic to document a wedding day, this just happened to be my first Dorset wedding of 2013.
The wedding documentary photo story starts in Bournemouth at Kelly’s parent’s family home. There was a sign on the door where Kelly was getting ready, saying “keep door closed”, the reason being the family cat Purdi is a rather mischievous snow bengal. She sneaked into the room at one point and hid inside the wedding dress, there was a scream as one of the bridesmaids attempted to remove her, she attached! All was safe though.
Kelly is a keen photographer and they both share a passion for relaxed and natural wedding photography. The couple live in London but chose to have their wedding in Dorset at the Sandbanks Hotel. Situated right on the beach its a fantastic location for a wedding celebration. Chris belongs to a running club and took advantage for an early morning run on the beach.
After documenting the wedding preparations I made my way over to Poole to capture the pre wedding ceremony atmosphere. The weather was extremely cold only 2c, however everyone was inside nice and warm in the hotel bar. There were a number of children that were invited to the wedding which always make for interesting and cute documentary wedding photography moments.
It was a lovely marriage, I’m so happy for them and wish them all the best for the future.
