Baby photography and family photos on location in Bournemouth, Dorset

Andy contacted me to arrange a family photo shoot at their home in Bournemouth. They have recently had their first child so also wanted some baby photography of their Son. It was their first professional photo shoot together, Heidi was a little nervous at first, but after chatting and taking time to relax in the comfort of their own home, we were able to get some nice photos.

Family photography is always very enjoyable when in relaxed surroundings. I was contacted by Andy for a family photo shoot as a gift for his Mother’s birthday. We arranged for the family photos to be taken at the family home in Branksome Park, Poole. The family requested some photos both in the home and garden. Berty their dog was very well behaved and we managed to get some great photos.

I met baby Millie a few weeks ago when she was only 4 days old. I was honoured to have the opportunity to photograph her so new to the world. Newborn babies are so cute, just love their little hands and feet.

Michaela had not been out of hospital long, so we arranged the shoot in the comfort of her home, natural and relaxed I find using the simplest of setups, on a bed, sofa or even a kitchen table allows for great locations in the home with no need for complex studio equipment.

After spending about an hour photographing Millie, in between a feed and cuddles from her Mom, we managed to capture her baby cuteness.

I met up with Sarah at her friends home in the New Forest in Hampshire to take some ‘bump’ photos for her. Sarah is expecting her second child, her Son Jayden was also able to make an appearance. She did not have any taken when she was pregnant previously and really wanted to have some done this time round, documenting the special time of pregnancy.

By arranging to do the shoot in relaxed surroundings it allows everyone taking part to enjoy themselves and no need to travel to a studio.

It was a pleasure to do the shoot, I think Sarah looks beautiful and glowing like an expectant mother should

Family photographer in Dorset – Connor having fun in the forest

As a family portrait photographer I enjoy capturing natural and fun moments when people are relaxed and being themselves.

I wanted to share one of my favourite child portraits that I took this year of Connor, he is almost 3 years old. I have been asked to photograph his birthday this weekend and capture 4 generations of the family who will be attending. Very honoured to have this opportunity, I will post some photos to my blog next week.

By arranging to photograph at places like parks, the beach and even the family home, where the kids like to play, not only does it make everyone feel more comfortable in familiar and natural surroundings, but also makes for better photos.

I had the absolute pleasure of meeting 4 day old new born baby Millie yesterday. Baby’s are so fascinating to watch, pulling all sorts of different facial expressions and making cute little noises.

Family portrait photography | Family photographer – Upton Country Park, Poole, Dorset

Diane contacted me to arrange a family photo shoot of her 3 children and husband to be Sam. We met up at Upton Country Park, which is not far from their home and where the kids have played many times. It is also the venue for Diane and Sam’s wedding next year. Nan and Grandad also poped along with their dog (you can see him in the background of the first photo).

After spending some time chatting, allowing everyone to relax and letting the boys play football, I started to photograph everyone having fun. Capturing natural moments. Thomas who is 8 showed off some of his skills doing cartwheels and headstands. Zak the youngest aged 2, was full of energy and very playful running around keeping me on my toes. We then arrange a few posed shots, but kept them as informal and relaxed as possible.

After emailing Diane with the images she emailed me back with these kind words:

“The photos are gorgeous, we are really pleased with them. Its going to be very hard to choose our favourites. I will be recommending you to everyone”

Diane wanted one of the photographs printed urgently for a father’s day present. I was able to arrange for this to be done the next day and get it to her that afternoon in plenty of time.

Portrait photography at Sandbanks in Poole – Rachel & Darren part 2

The second part of the shoot we walked over to the bay, with an amazing view of Brownsea Island in the late evening sun.

Wedding anniversary portrait photography at Sandbanks Poole

After taking a few more portraits around the bay we walked up to Evening Hill to watch the sunset. This is where they had part of their wedding celebrations 2 years ago this month. With beautiful views over the bay, this location is a favourite for locals to eat their fish and chips watching the sunset.

Portrait photography – maternity and wedding anniversary – Rachel & Darren part 1

Rachel and Darren’s second year wedding anniversary is this month and Rachel is also 6 months pregnant. So what a great opportunity for a combined wedding anniversary and pregnancy ‘bump’ portrait shoot.

Part of their wedding celebrations took place at Evening Hill near Sandbanks in Poole, so we thought what a perfect location to do the portrait shoot. Rachel and Darren are a lovely couple, madly in love, it was a pleasure to photograph them. We spent almost 2 hours taking candid and posed portraits at Sandbanks, Poole harbour and Evening Hill.
