Event photography: corporate event and team building activities

I was commissioned as an event photographer by Bluehat UK to photograph their corporate team building event in Hampshire. It was held at the beautiful old country manor house hotel, Tylney Hall.

The brief was to capture their corporate client taking part in team building activities, to provide documentary photography capturing natural moments throughout the day, interaction of the corporate staff taking part in the event and people enjoying themselves, the Bluehat staff assisting and instructing.

It was great to be able to photograph and document this event as it was fascinating to watch. The main part of the event was in the morning, the activity took several hours and was like a huge complex mousetrap game being constructed.

Event photography on location in Bournemouth, Dorset. Ben from Ridley Buchanan Architects got in touch to arrange photography of their event in Bournemouth, which was part of the Bournemouth Arts Festival.

Ben and his colleague are two architects and were holding a design workshop with the public from their ‘mobile architecture laboratory’ ice cream van. The van was parked in the centre of Bournemouth near Beales, they created some temporary seating and asked the public to volunteer ideas as to what they might like to see in the town.

The brief was to capture the guys intreating with the public, lifestyle photography, natural emotions and reactions. Also to document the ice cream van and its position within the location.

Event photographer Hampshire – restaurant and bar launch event

I was commissioned as an event photographer to photography the Vestry restaurant and bar launch event in Southampton, Hampshire.

The building is a converted church which makes for a unique venue with interesting features. The brief was to shoot on location and photograph the venue interior and exterior, capturing natural lifestyle portraits of staff and general public interacting, live band and atmosphere.

Event photographer | Raglan communications conference Newbury Racecourse

I was commissioned by Raglan Housing Association to photograph their staff communications conference held this year at Newbury Racecourse. The event included a keynote speech by the Chief Executive, various activities and award ceremony.

The photography brief included:

* Reportage photography throughout the event capturing the atmosphere and natural emotions
* Documenting the staff taking part in an icebreaker activity, communication workshop and treasure hunt
* Candid photographs of the speechs and staff
* Posed photographs of the people receiving the awards from the Chief Exec
* Various photographs of the conference, room shots and production
* Discreet approach throughout the conference

Using the latest professional equipment I was able to capture the event without the need for flash, whilst keeping low and unobtrusive throughout the speechs I blended in amongst the staff.

It was allot of fun documenting the treasure hunt, the production team from Bluhat UK had hidden codes around the grounds that the staff had to find. Using a special mobile phone the staff entered the codes to get new clues and tasks which include making a video of a flying paper aeroplane, funny team photo and a handstand.

Event photographer in Bournemouth, Dorset – Sky Ride event photography

Had a great day photographing the Sky Ride event in Bournemouth. I was commissioned by British Cycling as their event photographer to provide reportage coverage of people taking part and enjoying the event.

The brief was also to include branding and feature the location of the event, using creative angles and choosing different locations to shoot from. Activities and entertainment taking place in Meyrick Park, competitions and brand ambassadors Simon Thomas and John-Lee Augustyn. Keeping an eye out for quirky bikes capturing them and their riders.

Event photographer in London – promotional event photography

Fitness First commissioned me to photograph their PR event in Highbury, London. It was to help brand awareness and advertise their new fitness club that is opening at the old Arsenal football ground. A team of staff from their head office in Poole attended the event together with local staff from the Highbury fitness club.

The  brief was to capture the team in action, interacting with the general public, team photos and general location photography during the event.

Event photographer – Fitness First Spitalfields launch party

I was commissioned to photograph the Fitness First London Spitalfields launch party.  Their new club had their official opening with a staff and members party. Reportage and documentary coverage was required and a quick turn around time on the images. After some late night post production the press ready image files were provided over night ready for immediate use in the morning.

Corporate event photographer – Spitalfields, London PR event

Fitness First held a PR event at Spitalfields market in London to raise awareness of their brand and new fitness club that was opening in the area. I was commissioned to photograph the event. We arrived early that morning, it was a rather chilly day in November.

The market is a great location to work, great lighting. The brief was to capture the activities of the event which included some staff members dressed in gorilla outfits handing out flyers to the public attached to bananas! The staff were great to work with, it was a great day and allot of fun to photograph.

Watermark Port Solent launch event photopraphy

The Watermark was holding a launch party of a new event at their premises in Port Solent, Portsmouth. They commissioned me to photograph the event and requested a variety of shots including interior and exterior of the premises, lifestyle portraiture, reportage coverage of the evenings activities with emphasis on capturing the moment and atmosphere.

Their manager was kind enough to provide a testimonial:

“Paul took some wonderful pictures for us of the opening of two new sites, capturing the party atmosphere and all fun of the occasions perfectly, as well as managing to shoot the site in such an attractive light, really portraying them at their very best. Corporate event photographer – on tour with Xbox

During a 6 week tour through various cities in the UK, including London, Bristol, Sheffield, Glasgow, Newcastle, Xbox held live events promoting their products in shopping centres, student nights at local nightclubs and university venues.

I was commissioned to photograph the events and provide reportage and documentary photography. The brief was to capture people having fun playing the games and taking part in the competitions, documenting the production and equipement used at the events, general atmosphere, crowd interest and reactions, creative images with emphasis on dynamic portraiture capturing the moment, variety of shots featuring prominent branding or subtle inclusion of the products.

As part of the service, daily edits with post production were provided for immediate use.
