Dorset wedding photographers | Poole wedding planning

I am delighted to have been chosen as Kristin and Gerard’s wedding photographer. They are due to get married this week at Salterns Harbourside Hotel in Poole, Dorset. They both were keen to have documentary wedding photography throughout their day, to capture natural moments, the atmosphere, friends and family celebrating their marriage.

We met up the other week for a pre wedding shoot, it’s a great way for some practice before the big day and catch up with all the wedding plans. Kristin asked for the shoot to be down the beach, as its one of their favourite places to take a walk and enjoy as a couple. It was a bit windy but we had a nice walk and a chat, very much looking forward to meeting their family and friends after being told some funny stories and documenting their wedding day.

Here are a few photos from the shoot:

Civil Partnership Photography | Bournemouth Civil Partnership photographer

Roger got in touch to arrange photography of their civil partnership in Bournemouth, Dorset. They live in London, but Roger’s family are based in Dorset, so they booked the civil partnership ceremony at Bournemouth Town Hall.

Both Rob and Roger have never had any professional photos taken before and were rather apprehensive about having their photo taken. So I offered a complimentary couple shoot so they could get some practice before the big day. We met up for a coffee before the shoot, Rob has a great sense of humour and is the more mischievous partner. We spent some time chatting and getting to know each other before we had a nice walk through Bournemouth gardens.

After spending about an hour photographing and chatting, they were more comfortable about having their photo taken and I was able to get some nice natural shots capturing their individual personalties and love for one another. Very much looking forward to photographing their civil partnership.

Dorset wedding photographers - Compton Acres Wedding

I was delighted to have the opportunity to photograph Rachel and Fazer on location at Compton Acres in Poole. Rachel contacted me to arrange the couples photo shoot, it was their first professional shoot together.

Compton Acres in Poole is a lovely place to explore and a popular wedding venue in Dorset. The beautiful gardens allow for many great locations to have romantic portraits taken. The Italian Villa is idilic for celebrating a wedding. There are even views of Poole Harbour and Brownsea Island from within the gardens.

Rachel and Frazer are both fun loving people, playful with great sense of humour. It was a pleasure to photograph them and capture their love for each other.

Wedding photographer Poole, wedding planning

Wedding photography is one of my favorite types of event to cover, just love having the opportunity to participate in someones very special day. Simon and Vix have booked me to document their wedding day, so we arranged a pre wedding shoot at the same location where Simon proposed to Vix at Evening Hill inPoole.

It was such a lovely evening we had a nice walk around the bay and on the beach at Sandbanks. During the shoot we talked about the wedding plans. The couple have almost got everything sorted, still a few details to arrange. Their wedding is not until March next year, so they’ve got a bit of time.

They are a lovely couple, deeply in love which became very clear as I was photographing them together. They both have a great sense of humour and we had allot of laughs during the shoot. Very much looking forward to photographing them again next year.

Portrait photography at Sandbanks in Poole – Rachel & Darren part 2

The second part of the shoot we walked over to the bay, with an amazing view of Brownsea Island in the late evening sun.

After taking a few more portraits around the bay we walked up to Evening Hill to watch the sunset. This is where they had part of their wedding celebrations 2 years ago this month. With beautiful views over the bay, this location is a favourite for locals to eat their fish and chips watching the sunset.

We were able to get so many wonderful photos, here are just a few more from the shoot:

Portrait photography – maternity and wedding anniversary – Rachel & Darren part 1

Rachel and Darren’s second year wedding anniversary is this month and Rachel is also 6 months pregnant. So what a great opportunity for a combined wedding anniversary and pregnancy ‘bump’ portrait shoot.

Part of their wedding celebrations took place at Evening Hill near Sandbanks in Poole, so we thought what a perfect location to do the portrait shoot. Rachel and Darren are a lovely couple, madly in love, it was a pleasure to photograph them. We spent almost 2 hours taking candid and posed portraits at Sandbanks, Poole harbour and Evening Hill.

Got some lovely shots including reliving the wedding couples ‘first dance’ on the beach:

Lizzie and Martin – pre wedding engagement shoot

I met up with Lizzie and Martin at Upton Country Park in Poole, Dorset.  It was a lovely afternoon, though a tad windy at times.

It was their first professional shoot together, after chatting for a while to calm their nerves we started to have a nice walk around the park stopping for some candid and posed images on the way.

During the shoot we talked about the wedding plans for their special day in June 2011.  Very excited about some of the details of this wedding, the scooters, straw bails and village fate style evening celebrations.

Here are a few samples from the pre-wedding shoot:

Lee and Charlie – couple shoot in Bournemouth, Dorset

Lee contacted me to ask if I could photograph him and his boyfriend Charlie as a gift for Charlie’s birthday.  They are both based in Bournemouth, Dorset, so there’s no better place than the beach for a romantic, fun and natural couple shoot.

They have been together for 4 years and it was lovely to photograph them both.  Here are some examples from the shoot:

Portrait photography in Dorset – on location at Sandbanks with Matt and Dave

Matt and Dave have lived in Poole, Dorset for many years, so Sandbanks and Poole Bay were perfect for their photo shoot.

They had their Civil Partnership only a few years ago, but both wanted some new up to date photos of themselves.  We went down to Sandbanks the other evening, even though it was a bit cloudy I managed to get some awesome photos of them and the seascape.

Matt remarked how much fun the shoot was, completely different to their previous experience with photographers.   I always like to have fun when I’m photographing, sometimes it helps the more camera shy people relax and enjoy the experience.

Check out some of the images from the shoot in their gallery:
