After a lovely and successful wedding day, Kristin and Gerard requested some romantic poses taken around the marina. We set off into the sunset capturing a mixture of posed and more relaxed candid photos, they both had some practice in their pre wedding photo shoot. Whilst we were out a magician was back at Salterns Marina hotel entertaining the children and adults.
During Kristin and Gerards first dance I noticed Kristin’s dad and brother in the background in tears, whilst watching. Even the tough guys cry at such a romantic moment. The evening celebrations then started kicked of with a band and more guests arriving. I spent some time getting fun photos of everyone enjoying themselves before I left them to enjoy the rest of their night.

Documentary wedding photographer | Haven Hotel Sandbanks Poole wedding reception
These documentary wedding photos were taken during Alex and Bill’s wedding reception at the Haven Hotel in Sandbanks, Poole, Dorset. They had a Christmas wedding held on the bank holiday after boxing day, but it was a little more unusual than most as the service took place in Leicestershire and the reception 200 miles away in Dorset.

Event photographer on location in Beirut
I was invited over to Beirut by Above and Beyond HQ to photograph their live webcast event TATW400. Millions of people tuned into the 8 hour show from all over the world.
During the show I was photographing the artists and crowd reactions, editing a selection of images then they were uploaded via social media for everyone to see. It was a great experience.

Event photography: corporate event and team building activities
I was commissioned as an event photographer by Bluehat UK to photograph their corporate team building event in Hampshire. It was held at the beautiful old country manor house hotel, Tylney Hall.
The brief was to capture their corporate client taking part in team building activities, to provide documentary photography capturing natural moments throughout the day, interaction of the corporate staff taking part in the event and people enjoying themselves, the Bluehat staff assisting and instructing.
It was great to be able to photograph and document this event as it was fascinating to watch. The main part of the event was in the morning, the activity took several hours and was like a huge complex mousetrap game being constructed.

Music photographer | Event photography – Godskitchen Fusion Kiev
I was invited back to Kiev to photograph the Godskitchen music event Fusion. It is their new production in the shape of a cube. It’s always exciting to photograph at different locations and new things, as well as providing new challenges both technical and creative.
The event provided lots of opportunities to capture natural and really epic moments, of both the people enjoying the event and the new production.

Christmas by the sea | Dorset wedding photographer
Just wanted to share these photos taken last Christmas in Bournemouth, Dorset. It was a wintery and snowy day, the first photo is of Boscombe pier the second taken from the beach of the snow covered Purbecks. I wonder if we are going to get a white Christmas this year?

Music event photography on location in Kharkov, Ukraine – Godskitchen Neon @ Radmir Expo Hall
I really enjoyed photographing this event. The venue was great, with a balcony allowing more locations to shoot from. There was an awesome atmosphere with everyone including the artists really enjoying themselves. The main artists included Richard Durand and Sander Van Doorn.
The brief was to capture natural moments creatively throughout the event, the production, branding, atmosphere and artists. Full post production including creative effects and image enhancements was also completed, so that the images look their absolute best and to provide a variety of images.

Kristin and Gerard’s wedding ceremony and reception at Salterns Harbourside Hotel, Poole, Dorset
As all the guests started to sit down there was lots of excited anticipation for Kristin to arrive in the ceremony room. Gerard started to show some nerves after being very clam and collected all morning. Kristin looked beautiful in her wedding gown as did her bridesmaids. Both Kristin and Gerard had giggles throughout the ceremony, it was very sweet and a joy to capture.
It was a beautiful sunny day and quite warm for October, we made our way out to the grounds of the hotel that overlook Poole harbour. Kristin and Gerard requested for some organised groups of family and friends, but kept them informal. Whilst everyone was enjoying the day and chatting, I was able to capture people being themselves and having fun. Kristin wanted to throw her bouquet, which made for a great shot. All her single female friends got ready to catch.
Even though weddings could be considered the same, they are all so different. The unique aspect of each wedding are the individuals that take part, their personalties and own stories. I always enjoy the speechs, its lovely to hear both the touching and funny stories told by family and friends and see everyones reactions, which also make fantastic natural moments to capture.

Event photographer | Event photography of the music event Westfest 2011
Event photography: Westfest 2011 music event at Royal Bath & West Showground
I was invited back as the official event photographer for Slammin Vinyl. The brief was to capture the production, atmosphere, crowd reactions and various artists. The event is always fun to shoot, lots going on and a great atmosphere.
This event has always required allot of running around as there are multiple rooms with different stages and music. This brings its own challenges as due to the temperature and humidity changes from indoors to outdoors and back, the lenses suffer from misting up allot. A good lens cloth is required to keep them in good working order!
All the images below have been taken using the ambient light available, maintaining the atmosphere, no harsh camera flash was necessary. Full post production has been completed on every image, both creative and image enhancements, so they look their absolute best. Here are just a few of the event photos from the shoot:

Music photographer | Event photography on location in Kazakhstan
Event photography in Almaty, Kazakhstan – Godskitchen music event.
The commission was to photograph the music event to provide documentary and reportage coverage throughout the event, capturing natural reactions, crowd, atmosphere, production and artists. The venue was a ballroom, quite unusual for a dance music event, but made for a unique intimate atmosphere.
This was my first time to Kazakhstan and I wasn’t too sure what to expect. My only reference was the movie Borat! To my pleasant surprise Almaty is very different to the movie, quite an affluent area with beautiful countryside and snow capped mountains.
